Super! Tonic!

Updated: Dec 3, 2023

Every year garlic is for sure part of my immune system protocol and the most convenient ready to have version of my favorite natural antibiotic like action is super tonic. I've used it for over a decade, going on 2. The herbs and oils I use alongside of it often change with the season but ST is a constant. Last year I found "B Gone" and Elderberry Syrup my #bfh to this blend and I shared it liberally with anyone who wanted to feel better fast. This year it is Frankincense and Super Tonic that are standing up to the test...for my family and several others!

So at the end of every summer I take the overflow of jalapeños and cayenne and start my year long batch of super tonic. Based on Rachel Weaver's basic blend I often add turmeric and black pepper and sometimes herbs like rosemary and thyme.

In "Be Your Own Doctor" she gives these instructions:

Use equal parts of freshly chopped or shredded onion, garlic, horseradish, ginger, cayenne and/or jalapeños. Fill your jar of choice and then top with raw, organic apple cider vinegar. Let sit for 2-4 weeks. Strain and put into a dark colored glass bottle. Use as needed. I find it works best at the very first sign of feeling off. Sometimes just being very tired with no obvious reason is a good indication to whip out the super tonic and frankincense! If your adrenals are struggling already, the start of feeling off can be because your adrenals are often taxed as a first indication of your body fighting an illness.

PS I don't prefer spicy foods. If you are in the same boat, rest assured a tablespoon or two diluted in a glass of water works just fine! There is no need to drink any of this straight! For my littles I dilute it in juice or make garlic salve to use topically. (Email me for the recipe!)
